Prompt 1 : Firstly we started crayons. I gave a prompt, which was drawing himself. I set a mirror infront of him and gave him two packs of crayons. One pack of regular ones and the new around the world pack.
Prompt 2: After he had completed his self- portrait I had him draw different things about him. Examples: hobbies, interests, etc...... The medium I had him use was oil pastels.
Prompt 3: fall colors
Medium: water colors.
Prompt 4:
Medium: water color pencils
Andrew's Ranking of Materials: favorite to least favorite
Crayola crayons
Watercolors
Oil pastels
Watercolor pencils
For younger students I believe I would purchase crayons; price and expense wise it's smarter. The oil pastels don't work as well for details for kids and it smudges. Secondly I would choose watercolor over watercolor pencils. Andrew seemed to have a hard time blending and left a lot of lines and shading behind. Some of the details he didn't want to use the water brush.
